Definition

Open Rate indicates the percentage of email recipients who open an email. Since the introduction of Apple's Mail Privacy Protection (MPP) in 2021, Open Rate is less reliable as Apple automatically loads tracking pixels. Nevertheless, it remains a useful trend indicator for subject line performance and sender reputation.

Formula

Open Rate = (Opened Emails / Delivered Emails) × 100

Optimization Tips

Test different subject lines (A/B tests). Personalize subject lines with the recipient's name. Optimize send timing. Maintain your list to remove inactive contacts. Use a recognizable sender name.
