Definition

The Marketing Efficiency Ratio (MER, also Blended ROAS) relates total company revenue to total marketing spend – across all channels. Unlike channel-specific ROAS, MER shows holistic marketing efficiency and avoids attribution issues between channels.

Formula

MER = Total Revenue / Total Marketing Spend

Optimization Tips

Track MER weekly as a top-level control metric. Use MER for strategic budget decisions, ROAS for tactical channel optimization. Test budget shifts between channels and observe the MER effect.
